Mgr. Lenka Maixnerová

Lenka Maixnerová graduated from the Charles University, the Faculty of Arts, where she studied at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship. From 1994 to 2021, she worked for the National Medical Library (NLK), first as the Head of the Bibliography and Cataloguing Department in 2005–2012, and later as the Deputy Director of the Acquisions, Bibliography and Cataloguing Division in 2012–2021. She was involved especially in taking over the full texts and metadata from publishers for Bibliographia medica Čechoslovaca, and in reformatting NLK historical collections; she was a member of the MedLike Portal working group. She participated in the solution of a new software application for the translation of the MeSH thesaurus. From May 2021, she works for the National Library of the Czech Republic as the Deputy Director for Library Collections and Services.  She works in the commissions of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic for the VISK Programmes, she is a member of the expert team of the Central Portal of Libraries, of the working group for the Permanent Preservation of Traditional Library Documents, and of the Executive Committee of the Association of Library and Information Professionals (SKIP). She is the President of Prague regional organization of SKIP. Professionally, she is engaged mainly in collections’ acquisition, bibliography, cataloguing, and manage ment; she is also involved in the cooperation with publishers, building of authority files, making the library databases content accessible under public licenses, and in digitization.
